The Association for Theological Education in Nepal (ATEN) staff meet for daily family worship at 9:30 AM. Normally, the library remains open from 10:05 AM till 4:25 PM. The library closes at 3:25 PM on Mondays and Thursdays for cleaning and at 2:25 PM each Friday for weekly family worship.
A Central Theological Library
As you read in our constitution under 'ABOUT US' from the main menu, the first goal of ATEN was to jointly build a common theological library. In 1994, ATEN started a library with 200 second hand books in a rented room in the middle of Kathmandu. The library grew and grew. In April 2005, the Serampore University recognized ATEN's central library in Kathmandu as adequate for Bachelor of Divinity (BD) studies. This means member Bible schools and colleges in Kathmandu can award at least a recognized Bachelor of Theology (BTh) degree in Nepali or English under Serampore University. At present, Nepal Institute of Theology, Jorpati, is trying to upgrade itself as a BTh college.

ATEN's Other Ministries
Besides the maintenance of the library, ATEN's other ministries are:(1) Help Towards a Recognised Theological Degree Course (presently BTH), (2) Production of Theological Books in English/Nepali (see picture on the right and above), (3) Writers' Scholarship, (4) The Annual Nationwide Prayer for Peace/Democracy, (5) Monthly Four Hour Prayer by Pastors/Leaders for Peace/Democracy, (6) Sending for Higher Theological Training, (7) The Annual Reconciliation Ministry.

The library below now has over 15000 books and about 1200 readers annually.
